Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Commis to become a valued member of our passionate culinary team. This role offers a consistent schedule with two fixed days off every week (Sunday and Monday). The ideal candidate will bring prior experience, a genuine enthusiasm for the food industry, and a strong collaborative spirit. A solid foundational understanding of food and beverage operations is also essential for this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Collaborate closely with the Sous Chef and Head Pastry Chef in daily kitchen operations. * Execute assigned mise en place tasks efficiently and accurately. * Take responsibility for verifying the superior quality of all produce, ensuring no expired items are used. * Actively manage and minimize food wastage within the restaurant. * Communicate effectively with demi chefs and fellow commis chefs to ensure all stations are fully prepared for service. * Participate actively in brainstorming sessions and research & development initiatives with the Sous Chef and Head Pastry Chef. * Maintain consistently high standards of hygiene within the kitchen environment. .

Qualifications and Requirements

* Possess relevant work experience in a fine dining setting. * Demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail in all tasks. * Hold a Level 1 Hygiene Safety certification from the relevant food authority. * Possess a solid basic knowledge of food preparation and ingredients. * Be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal abilities. * Exhibit good presentation skills. * Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and succeed within a diverse team environment. * Be self-motivated and possess a high energy level. * Capable of working effectively and contributing collaboratively within a team across different departments
