Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled culinary professional to support our Sous Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen. This role involves taking ownership of food production within a specific area, skillfully preparing dishes, and ensuring that the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety are consistently maintained. The ideal candidate will also contribute to minimizing food waste, and may, at times, assist in coordinating kitchen staff to ensure efficient and cost-effective food preparation. Collaboration with operations teams and a focus on continuous improvement based on customer feedback are also important aspects of this role.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Support the Sous Chef in the everyday culinary activities of the kitchen. * Take responsibility for food production within your designated role. * Prepare or directly oversee the cooking of dishes requiring specialized culinary techniques. * Ensure that exceptional standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained across all assigned kitchen areas at all times. * Implement measures to effectively minimize food wastage. * Assist in organizing and coordinating the work schedules of kitchen staff to ensure efficient and technically sound food preparation within budget constraints when required / Manage kitchen personnel and assign tasks related to food preparation, cooking, and timely delivery to customers. * Ensure effective management of stock, including purchasing, receiving, storage, preparation, and service, with a focus on quality, quantity, and safety. * Collaborate closely with operations teams, gather customer feedback, and actively work towards improvement and development.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Must hold at least a WSQ Food Safety Level 1 certification. * Knowledge of halal cooking practices will be considered a significant asset. * A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar culinary role is required. * A strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures is essential. * Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for more senior positions.
