Commis Chef

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous individual to contribute to our kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing food items within an assigned section of the kitchen, following standard recipes and ensuring that every dish meets our established quality expectations for guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Set up your designated workstation for each meal service according to established procedures. * Prepare all necessary food items for your section, adhering to our high-quality standards. * Minimize food waste during all stages of preparation. * Assist the lead chef with the preparation of various food items as needed. * Store and handle food products according to strict hygiene standards. * Contribute to a positive and productive work environment among colleagues. * Understand and adhere to all food hygiene regulations relevant to the preparation and service of fresh ingredients. * Be adaptable and willing to work in any section of the kitchen when required by the supervisor. * Develop familiarity with all kitchen sections to support flexible staffing as needed. * Ensure that all operating and kitchen equipment is well-maintained and report any issues promptly to minimize breakdowns. * Break down and clean your workstation thoroughly at the end of each meal period, storing food correctly. * Ensure that all kitchen and food preparation areas are completely clean when left unattended. * Handle all kitchen machinery and tools correctly and perform basic maintenance as required. * Report for duty on time and in the correct uniform. * Provide courteous and professional service at all times. * Maintain smooth workflow and effective communication with all supervisors. * Comply with all relevant legislation. * Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times. * Foster positive and cooperative working relationships with staff across all departments. * Attend all meetings as required by management. * Fully understand and comply with company policies related to Fire safety, Hygiene, Health, and General Safety. * Be thoroughly familiar with the company employee handbook and adhere to all regulations therein. * Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned or as deemed necessary.
