Description

The Sales Engineer assists the Service Sales Manager in managing accounts, renewing maintenance contracts, and promoting after-sales service. Key duties include identifying automation needs, preparing proposals, coordinating with clients and engineering teams, and ensuring accurate costings. The role also involves monitoring sales leads, identifying revenue opportunities, and developing strategies to displace competitors. Additionally, the Sales Engineer is the main contact for promoting cold chain products in Singapore.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist Service Sales Manager in managing existing and non-SSA accounts. Focus on renewing maintenance contracts and promoting after-sales service coverage. Identify clients' automation needs based on business operations. Prepare competitive proposals and tenders for clients' projects. Coordinate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and in-house engineering teams. Prepare proposals for retrofitting and upgrading projects to generate additional revenue. Liaise between project teams, testing, and commissioning teams to ensure accurate costings. Collaborate with team leads and support teams for finalizing bills of materials and costings. Work with management to prepare competitive quotations, proposals, and risk reviews. Monitor sales leads and follow up to ensure accuracy of the sales funnel. Identify opportunities for competitor displacement and create value-added solutions. Ensure profitability of current maintenance agreements. Main point of contact for promoting cold chain products (pharmacy refrigerators and freezers) in Singapore.

Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma or degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related field. Proven experience in sales, preferably in the automation or engineering sector. Strong negotiation skills and a proactive "Will-to-Win" mindset. Ability to understand client business models and identify automation needs. Experience in preparing competitive proposals, tenders, and costings. Excellent coordination skills, with the ability to work with clients, contractors, and internal teams. Familiarity with retrofitting and upgrading projects. Strong communication skills to liaise with various teams and customers effectively. Ability to monitor and manage sales leads and follow up on opportunities. Understanding of maintenance contracts and strategies for competitor displacement. Experience with cold chain products (e.g., pharmacy refrigerators and freezers) is an advantage. A results-driven approach with a focus on achieving sales targets. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
