Junior Sous Chef - R&D

Description

We are seeking an innovative and passionate culinary professional to drive our new product development and enhance our existing offerings. This role demands an individual who is keenly aware of current food trends and possesses a refined palate with exceptional sensory perception, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality products. The Research & Development Chef will be instrumental in all stages of product evolution, from ingredient sourcing to final presentation and launch, working collaboratively with various internal teams.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Identify and procure ingredients for both current and prospective new products. * Plan and execute food tasting sessions and sensory evaluations to assess product quality. * Collaborate effectively with different departments on the development and rollout of new or improved products, including training and visual content creation. * Demonstrate strong teamwork and clear communication skills in all interactions. * Develop creative food presentation styles and participate in food photography or videography. * Provide insightful recommendations for process improvements related to kitchen equipment, machinery, and emerging technologies. * Maintain accurate and organized documentation pertaining to costing, product formulations, and other relevant information. * Undertake any additional tasks or projects as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in food product development within a food production environment. * A genuine passion for the creation and evolution of food products. * Demonstrated creativity in food preparation and visual presentation. * Possess strong initiative, a sense of responsibility, and meticulous attention to detail. * Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills. * Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. * Willingness to work a 5.5-day work week (with alternate Saturdays).
