We are seeking a passionate and experienced culinary leader to helm our kitchen and bring the vibrant flavors of Sri Lanka to life. This pivotal role demands a skilled individual with a deep understanding of Ceylonese culinary traditions and the ability to craft both classic and contemporary dishes. You will lead a dedicated kitchen team, ensuring seamless service, exceptional food quality, and a delightful dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Take charge of daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient and smooth service delivery. * Skillfully plan and prepare a diverse range of traditional and modern Ceylonese dishes, including specialties like hoppers, string hoppers, kottu, sambols, and curries. * Develop and refine menu offerings, taking into account seasonal availability and customer preferences. * Train, guide, and inspire kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. * Oversee inventory levels, manage food costs effectively, and handle supply orders. * Guarantee that all food preparation adheres strictly to hygiene and safety regulations. * Collaborate closely with management on menu development, promotional activities, and special events.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of five years of proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef, with a strong preference for expertise in Ceylonese or other South Asian cuisines. * Comprehensive knowledge of authentic Sri Lankan ingredients, spices, and traditional cooking techniques. * Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication abilities. * Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage kitchen operations and personnel. * Familiarity with kitchen budgeting practices, stock management, and food safety protocols. * Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
