Sous Chef / Western Chef (Airline Lounge)

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and creative culinary professional to prepare and present appealing cuisine for our passengers. This role involves managing food received from vendors, setting up workstations, and skillfully preparing both Chinese and Western dishes. The ideal candidate will be proactive in menu development, attentive to detail, and capable of working effectively within a dynamic, shift-based environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Receive and accurately account for all food deliveries from catering providers. * Organize and prepare designated workstations for efficient food preparation. * Prepare and cook a variety of dishes for passengers, adhering to quality standards. * Develop, create, and update menu items and their specific preparation guidelines. * Prepare food samples for presentations related to new menu ideas. * Forecast and adjust ingredient orders based on anticipated fluctuations in passenger numbers during peak and off-peak times. * Maintain a consistently neat and clean workstation. * Immediately report and seek assistance to resolve any maintenance issues. * Address passenger inquiries and feedback regarding the menu or food, as needed. * Engage with dining passengers when possible to gather feedback on their dining experience. * Undertake any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in both Chinese and Western cuisine restaurants. * Current knowledge of the latest culinary trends and innovations. * Ability to perform effectively under pressure and maintain composure. * Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule. * Availability to work on weekends and Public Holidays.
