As a Commis Chef, you will be integral to the initial stages of food preparation, ensuring your workstation is well-organized and that ingredients are meticulously prepared, cleaned, cut, and stored correctly. You will work closely with senior chefs, following their guidance to execute tasks accurately and contribute to the overall success of the kitchen.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Organize and prepare ingredients, ensuring efficient workflow and a well-maintained workstation. * Take responsibility for the initial preparation of food items before cooking, including cleaning, cutting, and proper storage. * Actively listen to and follow instructions provided by the Chef de Partie and Sous Chefs to perform assigned tasks accurately. * Prepare a diverse range of ingredients while maintaining the highest standards of flavor and visual presentation. * Regularly check and ensure sufficient stock levels of ingredients, functional equipment, and necessary supplies for the smooth daily operation of the restaurant. * Ensure all food products are stored correctly in designated refrigerators and storage containers throughout each shift. * Inspect both raw and cooked food items to guarantee that only the highest quality products are prepared and served to customers. * Assist in maintaining consistently high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety across all kitchen areas. * Assist in ensuring that food storage areas comply with the kitchen's hygiene, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Ability to communicate effectively in English. * Possess basic cooking skills and a foundational understanding of sanitary practices. * Must be available and willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
