Description

We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Operations Supervisor / Sous Chef to oversee the daily operational activities of our kitchen. This role is vital in maintaining food quality, hygiene standards, staff coordination, and overall kitchen efficiency. The successful candidate will support the Executive Chef and ensure that the kitchen functions seamlessly in line with food safety regulations and business goals.

Responsibilities and Duties

Operations & Supervision *Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation and service flow. *Ensure consistency and high-quality standards across all dishes and preparation methods. *Supervise portion sizes, workstations, fridges, and perishable items. *Monitor equipment and ingredient inventory and place orders as needed based on shortages. *Ensure kitchen operations adhere to all relevant legislation, health & safety regulations, and licensing conditions. *Manage ERP-related kitchen responsibilities and operational reporting. Leadership & Management *Support, direct, and motivate kitchen staff at all levels. *Plan staff schedules, roster, and track attendance records. *Maintain a clean, disciplined, and productive work environment. *Ensure all kitchen staff follow personal hygiene and cleanliness protocols. Quality Control & Communication *Check and ensure food quality, quantity, and presentation meet set standards. *Communicate regularly with the Executive Chef on complaints, menu adjustments, and improvements. *Be aware of local market trends and contribute creatively to menu development and food presentation.

Qualifications and Requirements

*Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in a professional kitchen. *Proven leadership and management experience in a kitchen setting. *Strong understanding of kitchen safety, sanitation, and health regulations. *Familiarity with ERP systems related to food and beverage operations. *Excellent communication and coordination skills with a hands-on approach. *Creative, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards in culinary operations.
