Kitchen / Service Crew (Family Cafe)

Description

We are seeking an energetic and helpful individual to join our cafe team. This role involves collaborating with fellow crew members on a variety of essential tasks, from preparing ingredients and beverages to ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for our guests. You will also be directly interacting with customers, taking their orders, handling payments, and ensuring their dining experience is pleasant. Maintaining cleanliness and assisting with general upkeep are also key aspects of this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Team up with other crew members on basic tasks such as preparing ingredients, brewing coffee and tea, and toasting bread and sandwiches. * Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen space, including washing dishes, wiping down surfaces, and sanitizing equipment. * Welcome customers warmly, accurately take their food and drink orders, and process payments using the point-of-sale system. * Deliver completed orders to customers at their tables. * Once customers have finished, clear and prepare tables for the next guests. * Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure the overall cafe environment is clean and hygienic.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a team. * A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. * Comfortable interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner. * Basic numeracy skills for order taking and cashiering duties. * Willingness to learn and perform a variety of tasks within the cafe. * Ability to stand and move around for extended periods. * A positive and helpful attitude.
