Accountant

Description

The Accountant will manage the complete range of accounting tasks, including the preparation of financial reports for management, tax calculations, and other related or ad-hoc responsibilities for the business entities. This role will work closely with various departments within the organization to ensure the smooth and timely execution of accounting operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Manage the full set of accounts for multiple entities (Construction & Trading). * Review and oversee the work of junior executives, providing guidance and support. * Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing, financial reporting, and preparation of schedules. * Review cost allocations and perform Work-In-Progress (WIP) adjustments for construction projects. * Monitor, verify, and reconcile inventory levels and movements. * Coordinate with internal teams to support operational activities and ensure smooth operations. * Prepare monthly reconciliations of various transactions for accounting purposes. * Identify and resolve discrepancies between system records and accounting records, actively seeking solutions to minimize differences. * Monitor and perform monthly cash flow forecasting. * Support all audit-related activities, including preparing financial statements (with notes), audit schedules, addressing audit queries, and providing necessary information. * Prepare corporate tax computations and liaise with tax agents. * Collaborate with the corporate secretary to ensure compliance with statutory requirements. * Maintain accounting controls and recommend improvements to enhance process efficiencies. * Assist with ad-hoc analysis, project work, and other duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a related field (e.g., CA SG, ACCA, CPA). * Qualified accounting/finance professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience. * Knowledgeable in Financial Reporting Standards, Tax Regulations, and the Companies Act. * Auditing experience is preferred. * Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Excellent organizational abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks, multitasking, delegating, and working independently with minimal supervision. * Detail-oriented, systematic, and meticulous with a keen eye for accuracy. * Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and a positive, solution-driven attitude.
