Junior Sous Chef

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to take on a key role in our kitchen, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality food and the maintenance of exceptional kitchen standards. This position encompasses overseeing daily kitchen operations, preparing a range of dishes to precise specifications, and contributing to menu development. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for guiding and developing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and presentation are consistently excellent, and maintaining adherence to food safety and cost management principles.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Oversee the complete operation of the kitchen on a daily basis. * Prepare a variety of hot and cold food items, fulfilling orders according to specific requirements. * Contribute to the creative process of planning and developing new menus and recipes. * Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring consistent and high-quality work performance. * Ensure rigorous quality control and appealing presentation of all food items. * Maintain proper handling and storage procedures for all food items, adhering to established standards and sanitation regulations. * Work towards maintaining planned food costs effectively. * Assist with general cleaning tasks within the kitchen. * Provide support to the Sous Chef in various kitchen duties.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Possession of a recognized Food Hygiene Audit Certificate (e.g., WSQ) is preferred. * Must hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (e.g., WSQ). * Four to five years of relevant experience in a similar kitchen role.
