Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled chef to prepare authentic Indian cuisine, specializing in traditional dishes and tandoor preparations. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to using high-quality ingredients, herbs, and spices to deliver exceptional flavors. This role involves maintaining food standards, contributing to menu development, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Prepare a variety of authentic Indian dishes, including tandoor specialties, using quality ingredients. * Ensure all Indian food is freshly prepared and meets our established quality standards. * Adhere to and enforce correct stock rotation procedures as outlined in the kitchen. * Demonstrate expertise in Indian, Chinese, and South Indian vegetarian cuisines. * Collaborate with the lead cook to develop new dishes and menus. * Monitor and manage stock levels and inventory within your area of responsibility. * Ensure proper stock rotation and storage procedures are followed in accordance with guidelines. * Monitor and control portion sizes and minimize food waste. * Prepare food for catering events as needed. * Maintain composure and work effectively under pressure during busy periods. * Prepare additional or similar food items quickly when supplies run low at outlets. * Develop and maintain a distinctive curry flavor profile to ensure consistent and high-quality dishes. * Train new cooks and assistant cooks as required. * Participate in weekly meetings with cooks to discuss menus and production needs. * Ensure daily kitchen cleaning and conduct thorough weekly cleaning with the team. * Work a split shift, typically 8 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 10 pm, to cover breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. * Handle catering preparations and conduct menu tastings for guests. * Demonstrate creativity in daily cooking and propose new dishes and menus regularly.

Qualifications and Requirements

* This is a full-time, permanent position requiring an experienced chef with a background in a similar culinary environment. * Must be available to work weekends and public holidays, with a weekday off. * Must be proficient in spoken Tamil and Hindi.
