**Job Description:** A global organization is seeking a highly experienced and driven Head of Global Sales to lead and manage its sales and account management teams. This role demands a proven history of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth, particularly within the Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities, the ability to motivate and inspire a team, and a deep understanding of the marine and energy sectors.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive sales strategy aimed at achieving revenue and profit margin objectives, driving overall business growth. - Ensure alignment of sales activities with the broader organizational strategy, while proactively addressing regional market complexities, challenges, and opportunities. - Clearly and effectively communicate the sales strategy and business plan to the sales team, ensuring each member understands their individual contribution to achieving organizational goals and values, and motivating the team to exceed expectations. - Allocate sales budgets to individual team members based on regional responsibilities. - Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, establishing effective account management plans for all assigned and target clients, and coach sales colleagues to enhance performance throughout the sales process. - Seek opportunities to expose the team to new working methods and on-the-job skill development opportunities. - Support the team in developing complex, high-value, and customized product and service solutions, along with appropriate contractual terms, to meet clients' strategic objectives. - Lead key solution presentations and negotiations with client representatives, managing internal collaboration to ensure smooth project delivery while mitigating commercial risks. - Review and approve sales proposals to ensure they adhere to acceptable commercial and risk parameters. - Collaborate with leadership teams to develop and gain approval for annual business plans aligned with the overarching organizational strategy, including detailed forecasts and client expectations, and develop business cases for key projects or new agreements, ensuring cross-functional integration as needed. - Identify key areas for improvement within the sales process. - Identify and pursue market opportunities for new client acquisition. - Interact with prospective clients at all levels, from individual contributors to C-suite executives, building and maintaining strong professional relationships. - Effectively communicate the organization's value proposition, showcasing all products and services. - Demonstrate deep understanding and proficiency in all stages of the sales process, providing a foundation for effective capability assessment, development, and performance management, identify skill gaps and support the team in identifying and pursuing their development priorities, and motivate the team to reach their full potential. - Create an inclusive and welcoming environment where all team members feel valued, respected, and comfortable being themselves at work, building rapport with diverse groups of people. - Promote and contribute to a safety-first culture within the organization, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. - Foster an environment where the organization's core values are upheld and exemplified by all team members. - Lead by example in upholding sales governance and compliance standards across the region. - Organize and conduct regular sales meetings with sales managers, customer service, and sales operations teams, utilizing business intelligence and CRM systems. - Review account pipelines, including requests for quotes (RFQs), sales activities, and performance metrics, using CRM software. - Regularly analyze new opportunities, new business wins, lost business, and emerging competition, taking appropriate corrective actions as needed. - Conduct regular client business reviews, ensuring well-prepared meetings with relevant stakeholders. - Ensure adherence to established levels of authority within the organization, utilizing the CRM system for formal sales approvals. - Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to maximize client satisfaction. - Ensure compliance with organizational sales governance policies.

Qualifications and Requirements

- At least eight years of experience managing sales and account management teams. - At least five years of professional experience in sales within the marine and energy industries. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - Strong prioritization, multitasking, and leadership skills. - Experience using CRM and ERP software. - Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. - Demonstrated ability to take initiative and effectively interact with all levels of management; ability to work independently. - A highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organized team player. - A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a four-year university. - Fluency in English. - Proficiency in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean is preferred for effective communication with APAC-based clients.
