Pastry Sous Chef

We are seeking a creative and skilled Pastry Chef to bring artistry and finesse to our dining experience through exceptional dessert and baked good creations. This role offers the opportunity to explore your culinary talents in developing and preparing a diverse range of sweet treats. You will also be responsible for managing the pastry kitchen, leading the pastry team, and ensuring the timely and efficient production of high-quality items that complement our menu. Collaboration with the executive chef and adherence to the highest standards of quality and hygiene are key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Create and prepare a variety of desserts and baked goods, including cakes, cookies, breads, pastries, and other sweet items to enhance the dining menu. * Develop innovative recipes and concepts for new desserts and baked goods. * Oversee the pastry kitchen operations, ensuring efficient and timely preparation of all items. * Train and manage the pastry team, including bakers working in the kitchen. * Manage the ordering and inventory of supplies for the pastry kitchen, working closely with the Executive Chef. * Ensure that all desserts and baked goods meet the highest standards of quality and presentation. * Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and other culinary team members in the development of menus and special offerings. * Ensure adherence to all local health, safety, and hygiene regulations within the pastry kitchen.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Proven experience in creating and preparing a wide range of desserts and baked goods. * Demonstrated ability to develop new and innovative pastry recipes. * Experience in managing kitchen operations and leading a team. * Strong organizational skills for managing supplies and inventory. * A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation. * Excellent collaboration and communication skills. * Thorough knowledge of and adherence to local health, safety, and hygiene standards in a kitchen environment.
