Description
This role is crucial for the accurate and timely financial reporting of investment funds. The Fund Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial tasks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and providing critical support to the investment management team.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Prepare and review financial statements for multiple investment funds, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. * Perform and review Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations accurately and efficiently. * Conduct thorough reconciliations of cash, investments, and other fund-related accounts. * Ensure accurate and timely calculation of management and performance fees for each fund. * Monitor investment portfolio activities, including trades, valuations, and cash flows. * Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and support. * Assist in ensuring all funds operate in full compliance with relevant regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. * Assist in preparing quarterly reports for regulatory authorities, such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), with the potential to assume full responsibility for these filings in the future.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA are highly advantageous. * Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the financial services industry, such as family offices, asset management firms, private equity, or hedge funds. * A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP), and investment fund accounting. *Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues. * Proficiency in using accounting software, spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel), and other relevant financial software. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with colleagues, auditors, and other stakeholders. * Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all financial calculations and reporting.
