Responsibilities and Duties

*Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring workflows run smoothly *Supervise the ordering, receiving, and storing of ingredients while maintaining proper stock rotation and quality checks *Maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and portion control in line with established culinary standards *Monitor food quality and temperature before service to ensure optimal freshness and taste *Minimize waste by managing inventory efficiently and ensuring accurate portioning *Uphold strict cleanliness and hygiene practices across all kitchen stations *Ensure safe storage and full usage of perishable items, keeping spoilage to a minimum *Keep track of expiry dates and ensure that no expired or unsafe ingredients are used *Tackle operational tasks or special projects as directed by management to improve kitchen performance

Qualifications and Requirements

*Prior experience in a sous chef or similar leadership role within a busy kitchen environment *Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards *Ability to manage inventory, reduce waste, and optimize food usage *Excellent organizational skills with a sharp eye for detail and food presentation *Comfortable working weekends and in a high-volume catering setting *Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player with leadership potential
