Assistant Restaurant Manager

Description

This position offers a chance to play a key role in the smooth and successful operation of a restaurant. You'll work closely with the Restaurant Manager, helping to organize staff, manage resources, and ensure guests receive excellent food and service.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Operational Support and Planning: - Support the Restaurant Manager in ensuring the restaurant runs efficiently. - Collaborate with chefs and staff to develop appealing menus that are popular with diners. - Partner with chefs to manage supply ordering and purchasing. - Estimate food and beverage costs, and monitor portion sizes to reduce waste. - Conduct regular checks to maintain consistent food preparation and service quality. - Financial and Team Leadership: - Contribute to achieving the restaurant's financial goals. - Lead the team during shifts, ensuring company service standards are met. - Collaborate with management to plan marketing, advertising, and special events. - Staff Management and Training: - Assist in the hiring, training, and scheduling of food service staff. - Customer Service and Issue Resolution: - Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding food and service. - Process customer payments using the Point of Sale system. - General Assistance: - Assist with various restaurant operations. Complete other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Education and Experience: - Minimum GCE ‘N’ level (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of relevant work experience. - Skills and Abilities: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Passion for providing excellent service and management. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Ability to communicate effectively in English and one other language.
