Kitchen Assistant

Description

We are currently hiring a Roving Kitchen and Hygiene Assistant to support day-to-day operations across various early childhood centres. In this role, you’ll assist with meal preparation and ensure a clean, safe environment for young children. You’ll be assigned to a different centre each day, providing essential support to maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food service standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, is flexible, and takes pride in cleanliness and care, especially in environments where children’s wellbeing is a priority.

Responsibilities and Duties

*Prepare and serve daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack) in accordance with the centre's menu *Ensure meals are portioned correctly and prepared according to food safety guidelines *Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, pantry, dining area, and equipment *Wash and sanitize kitchen tools, surfaces, and dining furniture after use *Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, wiping glass surfaces, emptying bins, and cleaning restrooms *Follow cleaning procedures and safety guidelines as outlined by the organization *Safely handle cleaning supplies and report any maintenance or safety issues *Maintain high hygiene and safety standards in all assigned locations

Qualifications and Requirements

*Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage *Possession of a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred *Must be able to work independently and manage tasks without supervision *Comfortable with rotating assignments across different locations *Physically fit and able to perform cleaning and kitchen-related duties *Reliable, punctual, and conscientious about cleanliness and child safety
