This position involves assisting with daily kitchen operations and guiding students in food preparation, hygiene, and food safety standards. Responsibilities and Duties
* Production Assistance: Provide comprehensive support to the production team in the main kitchen, ensuring smooth operations. * Student Supervision & Mentorship: Supervise students during food preparation, ensuring adherence to hygiene and food safety standards. Serve as a role model in best practices. * Quality Assurance: Demonstrate good practices in meal preparation, ensuring high quality in both production and service standards. * Resource Management: Monitor and manage ingredient usage by students to minimize food waste. Oversee the proper storage of supplies according to standard operating procedures (SOP). * Efficiency & Technology: Utilize appropriate technology to track inventory usage and kitchen waste, and collaborate with commercial partners to optimize equipment use.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Preferably hold a Diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or a related culinary field. * Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in Asian and/or Western cuisine (Culinary Arts). * Familiarity with current industry skill standards is highly valued. * Possess a strong passion for food, food service, culinary education, and the F&B industry. * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English. * Strong planning and organization skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. * Good interpersonal skills and keen attention to detail, especially concerning food hygiene and safety. * Proficient in managing inventory systems.
