Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead and inspire our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, leadership, and technical expertise to deliver exceptional dining experiences through innovative menus and consistently high-quality food.
Responsibilities and Duties
Menu Planning & Development *Assist in designing and developing innovative menus based on seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and the restaurant’s concept. *Regularly refresh and update dishes to maintain variety, appeal, and competitiveness. Food Preparation & Cooking *Oversee and participate in the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring consistency in flavor, presentation, and portioning. *Maintain recipe standards and ensure timely delivery of food during service. Kitchen Management *Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team, including sous chefs, line cooks, and prep staff. *Assign tasks effectively to optimize workflow and kitchen efficiency. Quality Control *Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes. *Ensure all food meets the required standards before being served. Inventory & Cost Management *Manage food inventory, control stock levels, and order supplies as needed. *Minimize food waste and control food cost through effective planning and portion management. Hygiene & Safety Compliance *Enforce strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices in accordance with health and safety standards (HACCP, ServSafe, etc.). *Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of all food items. Staff Training & Development *Train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and presentation standards. *Conduct performance reviews and mentor team members to support growth and improvement. Customer Satisfaction *Interact with guests when necessary to gather feedback and tailor dishes to customer preferences. *Handle special dietary requests and ensure guest satisfaction. Equipment Maintenance *Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment. *Schedule routine maintenance and report equipment issues promptly. Event & Special Catering Coordination *Plan and execute menus for special events, banquets, or catering services. *Coordinate with event organizers to ensure culinary excellence for private functions.
Qualifications and Requirements
*Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role. *Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional training. *Strong knowledge of various cuisines, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations. *Excellent leadership and organizational skills with the ability to perform under pressure. *Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards such as HACCP or Serve Safe.
