Description

This role supports the Accounts Manager in overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including managing full sets of accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, and supervising a junior staff member. This position encompasses accounts receivable and payable management, financial analysis, and adherence to accounting standards and regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Support the Accounts Manager in overseeing the full accounting cycle, encompassing general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. * Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. * Support the maintenance of accurate and timely financial records for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. * Contribute to ensuring compliance with tax regulations, filing requirements, and financial reporting standards. * Assist with the management of fixed assets and depreciation schedules. * Help develop and maintain effective internal financial controls. * Perform other related tasks as assigned by management. * Help oversee the accounts receivable process, including verifying invoice accuracy, tracking payments, and reconciling AR accounts. * Assist in following up with domestic and international clients on overdue payments and resolving payment discrepancies. * Contribute to generating AR aging reports and providing insights to management. * Communicate and collaborate with domestic and international clients, as well as internal teams, to promptly resolve invoicing and payment issues. * Process invoices for freight, handling charges, and other expenses from airlines, co-loaders, and vendors. * Verify monthly export, import, and general expenses submitted by airlines, co-loaders, and vendors against established tariffs and rates within the company's systems. * Identify and address any discrepancies or non-conformities, following up with relevant stakeholders for resolution. * Input and process verified billings, expenses, and claims to facilitate timely payment. * Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of payments and expenses within agreed-upon credit terms. * Maintain organized and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions. * Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. * Generate accounts payable aging reports and other ad-hoc financial reports as needed. * Perform other related tasks as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Demonstrable experience managing full sets of accounts, with a solid understanding of local accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements. * Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and AP and AR processes. * Knowledge of payroll procedures is advantageous. * Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. * Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies. * High level of integrity, commitment to confidentiality, and strong attention to detail. * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
