Housekeeping Supervisor

Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring quality standards by inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and amenities post-cleaning. They run room status reports, prioritize cleaning, and update departing guest rooms while coordinating efforts between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry. The role involves documenting and resolving discrepancies with the Front Desk, assisting with staff hiring, training, scheduling, and motivation, and ensuring adherence to safety and company policies. The Supervisor provides excellent guest service, maintains professional appearance, and communicates effectively with staff and guests. Physical duties include lifting up to 55 pounds, handling equipment, and performing tasks such as bending, reaching, and working extended shifts. Additionally, the Supervisor uses computers and point-of-sale systems to verify information and complete tasks, while performing other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Report work-related accidents or injuries immediately to the manager/supervisor. * Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions, or report them to management and security/safety personnel. * Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, bloodborne pathogens, etc., using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). * Adhere to company and department safety and security policies to maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment. * Follow property-specific procedures for emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters). * Remain vigilant about undesirable individuals on property premises. * Follow safety protocols for the operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines. * Use appropriate equipment, wear personal protective clothing (PPE), and follow proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. * Complete required safety training and certifications to perform job tasks safely.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Diploma or equivalent in Hospitality Studies or a related field. * Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
