Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled culinary professional to prepare delicious meals and contribute to a positive dining experience for our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of food preparation, from initial ingredient handling to final plating, while adhering to the highest standards of hygiene and safety. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to menu development and ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Prepare ingredients meticulously by following recipes, employing techniques such as slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing. * Season food appropriately and verify taste before plating meals attractively. * Prepare hot meals expertly using methods like grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling, and assemble and chill cold ingredients as needed. * Strictly adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety guidelines, including maintaining temperature and HACCP logs, and ensuring correct dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items. * Collaborate with the supervisor to contribute to daily, holiday, and themed menus. * Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for equipment, food storage, and work areas. * Complete cleaning tasks according to daily and weekly schedules, including dishwashing and pot washing. * Listen attentively to customer feedback and suggestions, resolving complaints within your scope and escalating complex issues to the supervisor. * Participate in and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving service quality and employee productivity. * Keep work areas, utensils, and equipment clean and organized. * Develop innovative new menu items while enhancing existing recipes. * Manage kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing within budget constraints. * Demonstrate proficiency in cooking North Indian cuisine. * Be available to work flexible shifts. * Assist with all aspects of food preparation and the serving of meals to customers. * Supervise a team to ensure cleanliness and tidiness in both the kitchen and service areas. * Ensure strict adherence to all food and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Proven experience as a Cook or Chef with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques and culinary principles. * Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and efficiently, with a keen eye for detail in ingredient preparation. * Expertise in preparing a variety of hot and cold dishes using different cooking methods. * A thorough understanding of and strict adherence to food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations, including HACCP principles. * Ability to contribute creatively to menu development and collaborate effectively with the supervisory team. * A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including adherence to cleaning schedules. * Excellent customer service skills with the ability to listen to and address customer feedback professionally. * A proactive approach to contributing to team efforts aimed at improving service quality and efficiency. * Ability to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes. * Experience in managing kitchen resources effectively, including expenses, food costs, and inventory (depending on the specific level of the role). * Demonstrated proficiency in preparing North Indian cuisine. * Flexibility to work various shifts as required. * Ability to assist with all aspects of food preparation and service to customers. * If applicable, experience in supervising a team to maintain cleanliness and adherence to regulations. * A strong commitment to ensuring all food and health and safety regulations are followed meticulously.
