Sous Chef - Japanese

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled culinary professional with a passion for Japanese cuisine to support our kitchen operations. This role involves a blend of culinary preparation, ingredient management, and team guidance, contributing to the delivery of authentic and high-quality Japanese dishes.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Support the Chef with various administrative tasks. * Manage the sourcing and procurement of authentic Japanese ingredients, including invoicing processes. * Prepare a variety of Japanese ingredients and dishes to the required standards. * Provide guidance and instruction to kitchen personnel on proper techniques and procedures. * Assist the Chef in the creative development of new Japanese menu items. * Ensure consistent high quality and presentation of all Japanese food items for a designated station. * Maintain impeccable hygiene and organization within the assigned work area, including refrigerators. * Adhere strictly to food hygiene regulations and company quality standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Diploma or equivalent qualification in Culinary Arts. * Minimum of four years of practical experience in a kitchen environment. * Comprehensive understanding of various culinary ingredients. * Excellent knowledge of Japanese food handling, preparation methods, and cooking procedures for a specific station. * A refined palate and keen sense of taste. * Proven ability to consistently uphold high standards for all Japanese food items and their presentation for a designated station. * Demonstrated ability to maintain exceptional levels of hygiene and order in the work area, including refrigeration units. * Thorough understanding of food hygiene regulations and company quality standards. * Proficiency in Japanese language is advantageous.
