Description

We are seeking a diligent and reliable individual to join our kitchen team and contribute to the preparation of quality food for our customers. This role involves following established service standards and procedures in cooking, as well as undertaking essential preparation tasks during opening and closing hours. Maintaining a clean and hygienic food preparation environment, handling ingredients appropriately, and ensuring adherence to quality and presentation standards are key responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be efficient, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding a smooth and safe kitchen operation.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Prepare and cook all food items for customers in line with established service guidelines and methods. * Carry out necessary preparation tasks during the kitchen's opening and closing times (mise en place). * Ensure that all food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. * Wash and properly store all utensils and dishes. * Sort, store, and distribute ingredients as required. * Maintain quality control and present food according to standard recipes. * Strictly adhere to all portion control guidelines as instructed by culinary professionals. * Ensure guest orders are prepared in a timely and efficient manner. * Monitor the use of kitchen equipment and utensils to prevent damage and ensure regular maintenance for longevity. * Wash, peel, chop, cut, and cook various food items, assisting in the preparation of all menu items. * Regularly dispose of rubbish and ensure proper refuse disposal. * Clean food preparation equipment, floors, and other kitchen tools and areas. * Perform other job-related tasks as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately. * Strong awareness of hygiene and food safety practices. * Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment are advantageous. * Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment. * Willingness to learn and take direction. * Ability to handle physical tasks associated with kitchen work. * Flexibility to assist with various kitchen duties as needed.
