Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient individual to join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the cooking process by preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring that all food handling procedures adhere to the highest standards of hygiene and safety. This role requires someone who can work well under pressure, is a team player, and is committed to maintaining a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist the Cook in preparing meal ingredients, including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping various vegetables, fruits, poultry, and meat. * Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, shredding, and grating them as needed. * Maintain a clean and sanitary food preparation area, adhering to established hygiene standards. * Clean and properly store all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes. * Promptly transport meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen according to the Cook's instructions. * Assist in unloading delivered food supplies and organizing and storing them correctly. * Clean food preparation equipment, floors, and other kitchen work areas.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of 2 years of proven experience assisting in a professional kitchen environment. * Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting. * A solid understanding of food health and safety regulations. * A positive team spirit and effective communication skills. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Availability to work shifts, including weekends, evenings before public holidays, and public holidays.
