Kitchen Assistant (Chinese Cuisine)

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Assistant, specifically supporting the preparation of delicious Chinese dishes. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of our food preparation process by assisting with ingredient preparation, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and supporting the chefs in various tasks. Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist in getting ingredients ready for cooking, such as chopping vegetables and marinating meats, for a variety of Chinese dishes. * Help with fundamental cooking tasks as instructed by the chef. * Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen area and all equipment. * Wash, peel, and cut vegetables, meats, and other food items according to requirements. * Ensure that all cooking stations are well-stocked with the necessary ingredients and supplies. * Assist with the presentation of dishes, including plating and garnishing, when needed. * Help with the essential task of washing dishes and cleaning kitchen utensils and equipment. * Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP and 5S guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A proactive and hardworking attitude with a genuine interest in learning about and assisting in the preparation of Chinese cuisine. * Ability to follow instructions carefully and efficiently in the preparation of various ingredients, such as chopping vegetables and marinating meats. * A strong commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the kitchen. * Ability to perform basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and cutting a variety of ingredients. * Awareness of the importance of keeping cooking stations well-stocked and organized for efficient workflow. * Willingness to assist with various kitchen tasks, including plating, garnishing, and basic cleaning duties like dishwashing. * A basic understanding of and commitment to adhering to food safety and hygiene standards. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a potentially fast-paced kitchen environment. * Good communication skills to understand and follow instructions from the chefs and other team members.
