Description
We are in search of a highly motivated and experienced leader to champion exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind all facets of restaurant operations, from cultivating a thriving and skilled team to upholding the highest standards of service, quality, and financial performance. Your primary focus will be on creating a warm, inviting, and truly memorable atmosphere that fosters guest loyalty.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Cultivate a high-performing team by strategically recruiting, carefully selecting, effectively onboarding, thoroughly training, thoughtfully assigning, efficiently scheduling, skillfully coaching, providing supportive counseling, and fairly addressing disciplinary matters for employees. * Clearly communicate job expectations, consistently monitor and evaluate employee contributions, and thoughtfully plan and review compensation strategies, all while ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. * Play a key role in achieving operational excellence by contributing valuable insights and recommendations to strategic planning and reviews, developing and executing comprehensive action plans, and implementing robust standards for production, efficiency, quality, and guest satisfaction. * Proactively identify and effectively resolve operational challenges, conduct thorough audits, analyze performance trends, recommend and implement beneficial system improvements, and skillfully manage organizational change. * Ensure the restaurant's financial well-being by accurately forecasting resource needs, actively participating in the annual budget preparation, diligently scheduling expenditures, carefully analyzing financial variances, and implementing effective corrective actions. * Collaborate closely with culinary professionals on menu development, accurately estimate food costs and potential profits, and strategically adjust menu offerings based on performance and guest feedback. * Implement effective cost control measures by carefully monitoring portion sizes and preparation quantities, actively minimizing waste, and consistently ensuring the highest quality of food preparation. * Mitigate potential legal issues by ensuring strict adherence to all relevant regulations, particularly those pertaining to alcoholic beverage service. * Maximize the profitability of the bar operations by implementing stringent portion control measures and meticulously monitoring the accuracy of all guest charges. * Enhance the restaurant's public image and attract new clientele through creative advertising initiatives, inviting food critics for reviews, proactively pitching feature story ideas to relevant publications, and fostering relationships with local businesses to encourage on-site events. * Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment for both guests and staff by establishing, diligently following, and rigorously enforcing stringent sanitation standards and procedures, ensuring full compliance with all legal regulations, securely managing revenues, developing and implementing comprehensive disaster preparedness plans, and ensuring the proper maintenance of security and safety systems, including walkways. * Cultivate the desired restaurant ambiance by carefully managing lighting levels, selecting appropriate background music, overseeing linen services, ensuring the quality and proper placement of glassware, dinnerware, and utensils, and consistently monitoring food presentation and service standards. * Continuously expand professional knowledge and skills by actively participating in educational opportunities, staying informed through relevant industry publications, nurturing professional networks, and engaging in relevant professional organizations. * Elevate the department's and the organization's reputation by proactively taking ownership of new and diverse responsibilities and consistently seeking opportunities to enhance overall job performance and contribution.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Extensive and demonstrable experience in a restaurant management role with a proven track record of achieving positive results. * Exceptional leadership abilities with a proven capacity to effectively recruit, develop, motivate, and manage a diverse and high-performing team. * Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of restaurant operations, including production, efficiency optimization, quality assurance, and the delivery of outstanding customer service. * Strong financial acumen with significant experience in budget development and management, effective cost control strategies, and revenue enhancement. * In-depth knowledge of menu planning principles, accurate food costing methodologies, and profitability analysis techniques. * Thorough familiarity with and a commitment to ensuring full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and legal regulations governing restaurant operations. * Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff, guests, and vendors. * A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. * A genuine passion for creating memorable dining experiences and a deep understanding of the principles of exceptional customer service.
