Kitchen Assistant

Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist with fundamental food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and portioning ingredients. * Execute more complex preparation tasks by carefully following detailed instructions from chefs. * Consistently clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, equipment, and tools. * Promptly and thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, pots, and pans. * Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage areas, including refrigerators and the pantry. * Help organize and replenish kitchen supplies and ingredients. * Monitor inventory levels and promptly inform the kitchen manager about any shortages or expired items. * Assist with the plating and presentation of dishes during service. * Help keep kitchen workstations organized, clean, and tidy. * Perform additional duties as assigned by kitchen staff or management. * Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines within the kitchen. * Ensure the correct handling and storage of food to prevent contamination. * Immediately report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is helpful but not essential. * Basic understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen hygiene practices. * Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Physical stamina to withstand long periods of standing, lifting, and moving items. * Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic. * Ability to adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced setting. * Dedication to maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation. * Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
