Treasury & Trade Finance Analyst / Manager

Description

We are seeking a skilled Treasury & Trade Finance Analyst/Manager to oversee and manage the trade finance function for trading operations in Singapore. As part of the Regional Treasury Centre, you will collaborate closely with the Global Trade Finance Desk and various internal and external stakeholders, including banks, traders, and operations teams. This role requires expertise in trade finance instruments and strong communication skills to effectively manage trade finance operations and relationships while supporting discounting programs and reducing working capital requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties

- Provide technical and professional advice to business units on trade finance matters. - Manage trade finance banking relationships and negotiate competitive pricing for trade finance solutions. - Support daily trade operations, including managing Letters of Credit (LCs), export bill discounting, receivables, and payment monitoring. - Source confirming/negotiating banks for export LCs and coordinate line reservations with banks and business units. - Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for reducing working capital using receivable discounting, credit insurance, and inventory financing structures. - Liaise with trade operators and banks on LC terms, amendments, and other trade finance-related matters. - Work closely with the Global Trade Finance Desk in Geneva to ensure smooth coordination of activities. - Validate and resolve discrepancies highlighted by banks in trade documents. - Prepare and deliver management reports on trade finance activities using various systems. - Provide backup support for cash management and treasury operations as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or qualification as a Chartered Accountant. - Comprehensive knowledge of trade finance instruments such as LCs, SBLCs, and BGs. - 5–10 years of experience in corporate treasury, preferably in commodity trading or a similar role. - Strong data management expertise, particularly in treasury operations. - Excellent team player with an enthusiastic and dynamic personality. - Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and constraints. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Comfort working in a semi-manual environment requiring process improvements. - Highest standards of integrity and reliability. - Fluency in English and Mandarin (oral and written); additional languages are a plus.
