SALES MERCHANDISER

Description

The Sales Merchandiser is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers while achieving sales targets. Key tasks include ensuring product rotation using FIFO, managing stock levels, and monitoring near-expired items to reduce returns. The role involves executing basic selling procedures, managing payment processes, and servicing assigned outlets daily. The Sales Merchandiser also provides professional sales and after-sales support, communicates trade activities with retailers, and reports on sales, operational issues, and market trends.

Responsibilities and Duties

Develop, nurture, and strengthen relationships with both existing and new customers. Apply FIFO (First In, First Out) for product rotation and regularly inspect near-expired stock to reduce returns. Meet or exceed the sales targets set by the company. Advise retailers on optimal stock levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking. Effectively implement basic selling techniques. Oversee payment processes and adhere to company payment policies. Follow the designated itinerary, ensuring all assigned outlets are visited daily. Provide high-quality sales and after-sales services. Communicate trade activities and promotional details clearly with retailers. Report on sales performance, operational challenges, competitor promotions/pricing, and market trends.

Qualifications and Requirements

GCE “N” Level Certificate or equivalent. Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in General Trade (e.g., mini marts and provision shops) or Modern Trade (e.g., supermarkets and convenience stores). Ability to work well under pressure. Strong communication and customer service skills. Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently. Must own a motorcycle and possess a valid Class 1 driving license.
