HEAD CHEF

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative culinary leader to take on the role of Head Cook Chef. This pivotal position involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, from leading and developing the kitchen team to crafting innovative and appealing menus. The ideal candidate will be passionate about culinary trends, possess strong organizational and leadership skills, and be deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene. This role requires someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while inspiring and guiding their team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Conduct interviews, manage the hiring process, and provide training for cooks and other kitchen personnel. * Plan and direct the tasks performed by the food preparation team. * Take ownership of the health and safety practices of the entire kitchen staff. * Develop food menus, ensuring they are current, appealing, and well-presented. * Stay informed about the latest culinary trends and integrate them into menu offerings. * Create new recipes and determine the most effective and visually appealing ways to present dishes. * Manage the ordering of food and kitchen supplies, including equipment, and maintain an accurate inventory. * Liaise with suppliers, verify order accuracy, and confirm quoted prices. * Regularly inspect and ensure that all equipment and work areas are consistently maintained in a spotless condition. * Stay up-to-date and ensure compliance with all current health and safety laws and regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A high school diploma or its equivalent. * Formal culinary training from a community college, technical school, culinary arts program, or a four-year college. * A minimum of two years of experience in a lead cook role. * A strong understanding of current culinary trends and practices. * Demonstrated ability to develop original and delicious recipes. * The capacity to effectively manage multiple tasks and perform well under pressure. * Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
