Sous Chef

We're looking for a passionate and reliable Junior Sous Chef to support our culinary operations within a production or central kitchen environment. You’ll play a vital role in overseeing food preparation, ensuring standards are met, and coordinating your section’s output while maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization. Responsibilities and Duties

*Supervise the day-to-day preparation of dishes and ensure timely production across your section *Maintain consistent taste, portioning, and presentation quality according to set kitchen standards *Support menu and product development alongside the Head Chef for your assigned area *Coordinate team activities, guiding and mentoring kitchen staff to uphold efficiency and accuracy *Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in your workspace, complying with all hygiene regulations *Handle basic butchery tasks involving poultry, seafood, and meat as required *Track and manage stock levels in your section to reduce wastage and ensure smooth operations *Contribute to order placement for your designated station or section *Assist in logging and reporting on food wastage, internal transfers, and staff meal preparations *Foster strong collaboration with the wider kitchen team to keep operations running seamlessly

Qualifications and Requirements

*Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within a central kitchen or high-volume setting *Culinary diploma or certification is an advantage but not mandatory *Strong understanding of food prep methods, kitchen flow, and production standards *Ability to work well under pressure while managing a small team effectively *Sound communication skills and a cooperative team spirit *Knowledge of food hygiene practices and possession of valid food safety certification
