Sous Chef

This role demands a hands-on leader capable of managing all aspects of kitchen operations, from food preparation to staff training.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Direct and guide the kitchen team, overseeing all daily culinary activities. * Mentor junior kitchen staff, providing instruction on food preparation, cooking techniques, and plate presentation. * Uphold the quality of all food products and ensure consistent delivery of established standards. * Manage food preparation, presentation, procurement, staff training, and supervision, including accurate documentation of menu items, cost analysis, and related paperwork. * Ensure the kitchen runs effectively with adequate staffing and that all equipment is maintained in a clean and fully functional state. * Verify that the kitchen team consistently adheres to uniform, grooming, and appearance guidelines. * Cultivate strong working relationships with front-of-house staff and management. * Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Possesses a personable demeanor and enjoys interacting with people. * Previous experience within the food and beverage industry is preferred. * Experience working in a cafe or similar environment. * Availability to work night shifts. * Ability to work weekends and public holidays. * Staff meals will be provided.
