Responsibilities and Duties

* Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from initial food preparation to final plating and presentation. * Take the lead in the recruitment, training, and management of all kitchen personnel. * Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen. * Spearhead the development and innovation of new and exciting menu offerings. * Maintain a deep understanding of food costs and implement strategies for efficient resource management. * Supervise and guide the kitchen team to ensure consistent quality and timely service. * Organize and manage kitchen workflows to optimize productivity and efficiency. * Take responsibility for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Significant progressive experience within professional kitchens, demonstrating a strong understanding of culinary techniques and kitchen management. * A genuine passion for cooking and a desire to explore creative culinary concepts. * Stamina and resilience to thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment, including the ability to work extended hours and remain on your feet for long periods. * Comprehensive knowledge of various food products, their seasonality, and availability to inform menu planning. * Excellent organizational, supervisory, and time management skills to effectively manage kitchen activities and personnel. * A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene principles. * While formal qualifications can be beneficial, demonstrable on-the-job training and practical experience are highly valued for career advancement in this role.
