Description
A resourceful and versatile culinary professional is sought to contribute to the efficient operation of a dynamic restaurant and catering kitchen. This role involves supporting various kitchen functions, adhering to stringent food safety and sanitation guidelines, and expertly preparing a diverse range of dishes, with a particular emphasis on authentic South Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player capable of handling high-volume cooking for both daily service and large-scale events, demonstrating strong organizational and execution skills.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Support the seamless flow of kitchen and catering activities. * Ensure strict adherence to food handling and sanitation protocols in line with relevant health authority standards. * Prepare a variety of South Indian culinary offerings, including items like idly, vada, sambar, rasam, and South Indian-style chicken, mutton, and fish curries. * Possess the proficiency to prepare flatbreads such as parotta and crepes like dosa. * Demonstrate the ability to manage large-quantity food preparation for weddings and other events, including effective planning and execution. * Clean, chop, and prepare ingredients for cooking, ensuring that the prepared food meets the required standards of quality and quantity. * Exhibit familiarity with Indian spices and various cooking implements. * Follow all established standard operational procedures meticulously. * Adhere strictly to recipe guidelines. * Execute tasks as directed by senior kitchen personnel. * Organize and prepare necessary mise en place. * Produce daily food items across different kitchen stations. * Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe working environment within the kitchen. * Undertake any other relevant tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Must be adaptable and available to work during busy periods, including weekends and public holidays. * Demonstrates a proactive approach to learning, possesses strong self-motivation, and works efficiently. * Capable of minimizing waste of food and beverage resources within the kitchen. * Complies with all established rules and regulations. * Displays a positive demeanor and maintains a professional appearance.
