Description

You'll play a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Food Preparation and Handling: - Prepare meal ingredients, including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping various food items. - Accurately measure meal ingredients according to recipes. - Plate and present meal items according to specified standards. - Ensure the completion of food preparations for your designated section. - Kitchen Operations and Hygiene: - Properly clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards. - Wash and store cooking appliances, utensils, and dishes. - Perform basic cleaning duties and maintain a properly sanitized kitchen environment, adhering to HACCP standards. - Receive deliveries and verify the quality and accuracy of ordered items. - Assist with the unloading of food supplies. - Inventory and Stock Management: - Assist supervisors with inventory duties. - Monitor stock movement and prepare ordering lists for supervisors. - Ensure minimum kitchen wastage. - Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins. - Teamwork and Training: - Train and manage any demi-chef de parties or commis working with you. - Maintain and communicate product knowledge to relevant personnel. - Learn and record skills and recipes from other team members. - Safety and Compliance: - Ensure high standards of food hygiene and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience and Skills: - Ability to prepare and handle food ingredients effectively. - Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and sanitation practices. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. - Ability to monitor stock and create order lists. - Ability to train and manage other kitchen staff. - Work Requirements: - Ability to work 5 days per week, 44 hours weekly, with potential overtime. - Willingness to work shifts and weekends. - Ability to follow direction. - Personal Attributes: - Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. - Strong teamwork and communication skills. - A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
