Description
An exciting opportunity awaits a skilled and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join the culinary team of a highly regarded Singapore-based restaurant specializing in innovative takes on beloved Filipino cuisine. This role is vital in supporting the Sous Chef to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, consistently delivering exceptional dishes to our guests. The Chef de Partie will also guide and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to our established quality standards. This position demands a strong culinary background, a passion for food, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily food preparation to ensure the seamless flow of kitchen operations. * Possess a comprehensive understanding of and the ability to prepare and execute all menu items to perfection. * Accurately estimate and communicate daily production needs to the Head Chef or Sous Chef, and assess the quality of all food items to guarantee safety. * Perform daily kitchen preparation tasks, including: * Washing, peeling, and/or cutting a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits. * Cleaning and portioning various meats and seafood. * Preparing sauces, dressings, and other condiments. * Preparing all other necessary ingredients and menu components. * Execute daily general kitchen duties, including: * Setting up and ensuring the cleanliness of kitchen equipment. * Performing dishwashing duties as needed. * Maintaining the cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas. * Proper disposal of kitchen waste. * Support the culinary team in the development of recipes and the creation of new and exciting dishes. * Strictly adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations as mandated by local authorities and internal standards. * Assist in maintaining efficient cost control through responsible purchasing and stock utilization, minimizing waste, and using kitchen equipment effectively. * Cultivate and promote a positive and collaborative working atmosphere within the team. * Undertake any other relevant duties as assigned by the Head Chef. * Be knowledgeable about and able to clearly describe the quality, ingredients, and preparation methods of all food items to customers. * Participate in service duties to support the team when necessary. * Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen team members (e.g., Commis Chefs) to ensure their understanding of restaurant operating procedures. * Assist the Chef and Sous Chef in implementing training programs for both the Kitchen and Service Teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
