Kitchen Assistant

Description

We are looking for Kitchen Assistants to join a Japanese family restaurant located at Jewel Changi Airport. The role involves supporting chefs with food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, handling dishwashing duties, and ensuring food safety standards. Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as washing, cutting, and peeling ingredients * Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, cooking stations, utensils, and equipment * Handle dishwashing duties including pots, dishes, and kitchen tools * Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and supplies * Dispose of waste properly and maintain hygiene standards * Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen deliveries * Perform simple cooking tasks under supervision (e.g., frying, grilling) * Support overall kitchen operations during busy periods

Qualifications and Requirements

* Prior kitchen experience preferred, but no experience candidates are welcome with willingness to learn * Ability to follow instructions accurately * Good personality, initiative, and time management skills * Physically able to carry loads of 5–10kg * Willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Full-time role, 5-day work week (44 hours per week, rostered shifts between 9:00 am – 10:00 pm), off-in-lieu for public holidays
