Kitchen Assistant

We’re seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting daily kitchen activities, from food prep to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. Your efforts will help ensure smooth operations so that our chefs can focus on delivering great food and service.

Responsibilities and Duties

Food Prep & Support *Help with ingredient prep, including rinsing, peeling, cutting, and portioning. *Prepare simple dishes like rice, noodles, or sauces under supervision. *Restock food and condiments throughout service hours. *Assist with kitchen setup and breakdown before and after meal periods. Cleaning & Hygiene *Clean equipment, tools, and surfaces regularly. *Wash and store utensils, pots, and dishes in a sanitary manner. *Maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and follow proper waste disposal practices. *Follow health and hygiene guidelines at all times. Kitchen Operations *Provide hands-on support during busy hours (e.g., passing ingredients, assembling plates). *Help pack food for takeaway or delivery, if required. *Properly store and label ingredients to ensure freshness and reduce waste. *Comply with all food safety regulations and protocols. Inventory & Stock Management *Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen stock and deliveries. *Keep the storage area tidy and monitor inventory levels. *Inform kitchen leaders about low stock or expired items.

Qualifications and Requirements

*No prior experience needed—training will be provided. *Physically able to work on your feet for long hours in a warm kitchen environment. *Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays. *A basic understanding of food safety and cleanliness is helpful. *Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
