Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team. In this role, you will be instrumental in the initial stages of meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are meticulously handled and prepared according to our standards. You will also play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. Responsibilities and Duties

* Assist the Cook by preparing meal ingredients, including washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping a variety of vegetables, fruits, poultry, and meats. * Wash, chop, shred, and grate ingredients with precision and care. * Ensure all food preparation areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in accordance with established hygiene standards. * Wash and properly store all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes. * Efficiently transfer meal ingredients from storage to the kitchen as directed by the Cook. * Assist with the unloading of delivered food supplies. * Organize and store food supplies correctly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage. * Maintain the cleanliness of food preparation equipment, the kitchen floor, and other kitchen work areas.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience assisting in a professional kitchen environment. * Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting. * Solid understanding of food health and safety regulations and best practices. * A positive team spirit with effective communication skills. * Excellent organizational and time management abilities. * Willingness and ability to work shifts, weekends, the eve of public holidays, and public holidays as required.
