Sous Chef

We are looking for a dedicated and capable culinary professional to support kitchen operations and contribute to exceptional dining experiences. This role requires hands-on involvement in food preparation, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and step into a leadership role when necessary. Responsibilities and Duties

*Place orders to ensure kitchen inventory is adequately stocked *Receive, organize, and store supplies efficiently and hygienically *Monitor kitchen supplies and food usage to align with budget requirements *Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen activities, and take the lead in their absence *Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace, including kitchen equipment and surfaces *Participate in the preparation and cooking of meals across various service periods (breakfast, lunch, events) *Follow and enforce strict health, hygiene, and safety protocols at all times *Engage with guests during service hours to enhance their dining experience *Support all meal services, from regular menus to special functions *Collaborate on menu development, including seasonal changes and special promotions *Conduct accurate menu costing to support profitability *Track and report kitchen waste to support sustainability initiatives *Attend team and departmental meetings as required

Qualifications and Requirements

*Prior experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hotel or event catering setting *Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene regulations *Able to take initiative and lead when needed *Experience with menu planning, costing, and waste control is a plus *Excellent organizational and multitasking skills *Positive attitude and willingness to interact with guests during service hours *Comfortable working flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
