Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to take on a crucial role in our central kitchen, focusing on the preparation of our product line. This position demands a commitment to upholding stringent quality standards in both recipe adherence and final presentation. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring that all products originating from the central kitchen meet our established benchmarks for excellence before reaching our various locations and catering clients promptly. Furthermore, this role involves maintaining the quality of all incoming food items and ensuring compliance with all relevant hygiene and safety regulations.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Prepare products ensuring all recipes are followed precisely and presentation aligns with the company's quality commitment. * Take accountability for the quality of all items produced in the central kitchen, ensuring they meet company standards before dispatch to outlets and catering clients in a timely manner. * Ensure the quality of all food items (both raw and cooked) and condiments received from suppliers is preserved through correct storage and handling. * Guarantee adherence to guidelines from relevant authorities regarding packing, personal and food hygiene, safety protocols, and the cleanliness and organization of the work area. * Be responsible for the hygienic and safe preparation of food in accordance with food hygiene standards and workplace health and safety laws. * Support the Sous Chef in minimizing waste, ensuring timely ingredient orders for freshness, and maintaining adequate stock levels. * Assist with inventory management when required, monitoring ingredient and finished product stock and maintaining minimum stock levels.

Qualifications and Requirements

* A minimum of five years of practical experience in pastry and/or cake production. * Possession of a Diploma in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Cake Decoration, or a related field. * Familiarity with standard food and beverage operational practices and procedures. * Experience in delivering high-quality products for catering or banquet events. * Adaptable to changing priorities and able to manage tasks effectively. * Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities. * Capable of communicating effectively with team members and management when necessary. * Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and a strong collaborator within a team setting.
