Description
We are seeking a talented and ambitious culinary professional to support our Executive Chef in overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen. As Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of exceptional dishes. You will lead and mentor our kitchen team, coordinate food preparation, and manage resources effectively, all while upholding the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. In the Executive Chef's absence, you will step up to take full responsibility for the kitchen, ensuring seamless operations and unwavering quality.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Contribute to the creation and design of our food and beverage menus. * Produce visually appealing and delicious dishes that meet our high standards. * Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively, meeting our quality benchmarks. * Step in for the Executive Chef to plan and direct food preparation when needed. * Proactively address any issues that arise and effectively manage challenging situations. * Lead and develop kitchen staff, establish work schedules, and evaluate performance. * Order necessary supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels. * Adhere to and enforce all sanitation regulations and safety protocols. * Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with colleagues and guests. * Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menu items, seasonal offerings, and tasting experiences. * Ensure constant compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation guidelines, and proper food handling procedures. * Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment upkeep and proper ingredient storage.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Demonstrated experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or in a similar senior kitchen role. * Strong and well-developed culinary skills. * Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to motivate and guide kitchen staff. * A creative mindset and a passion for exploring new ingredients and flavor combinations. * Ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen setting. * Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business. * Possession of a food hygiene certification.
