Sales Manager

Description

Responsible for proactively seeking and managing group and catering opportunities, handling those not managed by the Event Booking Center. Actively upsells each opportunity to maximize revenue and meets individual and team revenue targets. Ensures timely and accurate turnover of business for seamless service delivery. Drives customer loyalty by delivering excellent service throughout each customer interaction, aiming to increase the company’s share of each account.

Responsibilities and Duties

Group/Catering Sales: * Identifies new group/catering opportunities to meet revenue goals. * Understands market dynamics, competitors, and economic trends to sell effectively. * Closes business opportunities based on market conditions and property needs. * Monitors selling procedures to optimize room revenue and occupancy. Sales Activities: * Responds to incoming group/catering requests outside the Event Booking Center’s scope. * Negotiates contracts and closes sales using creative strategies. * Utilizes sales resources and staff effectively. * Manages operational tasks like proposals, contracts, and customer correspondence. Customer Service: * Drives customer loyalty by delivering excellent service at every touchpoint. * Enhances account share by meeting customer needs and exceeding expectations. * Ensures service excellence consistent with brand and customer service standards. * Works with Event Management/Operations to exceed customer expectations during events. * Obtains customer feedback and addresses concerns to improve service quality. Relationship Building: * Collaborates with off-property sales teams for coordinated efforts. * Builds and nurtures relationships with customers and community stakeholders for future business. * Provides accurate turnover information to Event Management for seamless execution. Additional Responsibilities: * Utilizes intranet resources for information. * Conducts site inspections and creates contracts. * Practices daily service basics to maintain high standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related field. OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field; no prior work experience required.
