Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards. This role works closely with kitchen management to ensure smooth daily operations and a superior dining experience for customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

Food Preparation & Cooking *Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to standard recipes. *Ensure all food items are consistently cooked, portioned, and presented to meet quality standards. *Monitor food temperatures and presentation for proper service readiness. Kitchen Staff Supervision *Lead and supervise junior cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers. *Train and mentor new team members to uphold food safety and quality. *Maintain a positive and productive team environment. Inventory & Stock Control *Oversee kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock rotation. *Ensure proper storage practices and minimize food wastage. *Coordinate with kitchen management to track supply levels and needs. Hygiene & Safety *Maintain cleanliness in food preparation and storage areas. *Adhere strictly to food safety regulations and sanitation protocols. *Conduct regular checks on kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs. Menu Development Support *Collaborate with chefs or kitchen managers to update and refine menus. *Propose new recipe ideas and improvements to existing dishes based on customer preferences and seasonal trends.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education & Experience *Culinary certification or diploma is preferred. *Minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting. *Proven expertise in preparing a range of dishes with excellent consistency. Skills & Competencies *Solid understanding of food hygiene, safety regulations, and cooking techniques. *Strong leadership and communication skills. *Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen. *Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities. *Skilled in customer interaction and resolving feedback effectively. Physical Requirements *Ability to stand for long hours, lift heavy materials, and work in a hot, busy kitchen environment. *High energy and stamina to meet the demands of a full-service kitchen.
