Description
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations with creativity, precision, and passion. This role involves everything from designing standout menus and overseeing daily kitchen activities to managing staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining cost control. Responsibilities and Duties
*Menu Design & Innovation Develop unique and versatile menu options that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary needs. Stay ahead of food trends and experiment with fresh techniques and ingredients. *Kitchen Operations & Cooking Supervise all aspects of meal preparation, ensuring dishes are consistently delicious and visually appealing. Maintain a hygienic and well-organized kitchen that complies with safety standards. *Team Leadership Hire, train, and mentor chefs, cooks, and support staff to ensure optimal performance. Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to support staff development. *Quality Assurance Perform routine taste and presentation checks to ensure every dish aligns with brand expectations. Resolve quality issues quickly and effectively to maintain high standards. *Inventory & Budget Management Oversee inventory levels, manage food orders, and reduce waste to optimize food costs. Track kitchen expenditures and maintain alignment with budget targets. *Collaboration & Service Flow Work closely with the service team to ensure smooth kitchen-to-table coordination. Relay special requests or dietary instructions accurately and efficiently to kitchen staff. *Compliance & Safety Oversight Ensure the kitchen follows all hygiene and safety protocols as per local food safety regulations. Carry out regular checks and address potential risks to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
*At least 5 years of proven leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen setting, such as a restaurant, hotel, or catering service. *Solid understanding of cost control and kitchen budgeting practices. *Culinary certification or equivalent hands-on expertise preferred. *Strong team leadership and organizational skills. *Creative with a keen eye for crafting new, exciting dishes. *Well-versed in a variety of cooking techniques and international cuisines. *Deep knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices. *Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
