Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated culinary professional to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality food and maintain exceptional standards within their kitchen station. This role demands a proactive individual who can expertly follow recipes, uphold stringent hygiene practices, and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment. You will play a key part in achieving maximum guest satisfaction through culinary excellence.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Ensure all prepared and served food adheres to the company's established recipes and quality benchmarks through active involvement. * Maintain impeccable cleanliness within the designated kitchen station, including storage and refrigeration areas, while prioritizing a safe working environment to prevent accidents. * Inspect the quality of prepared food and effectively supervise the assigned station to consistently achieve high culinary standards. * Verify all storeroom requisitions and kitchen transfers for the station. * Inspect the quality of received food items against the market list and ensure proper storage according to specifications. * Implement strategies to control and minimize food wastage through: * Maintaining optimal food inventory levels to meet budget targets. * Utilizing food surpluses creatively without compromising quality or the guest experience. * Adhering to precise portion control guidelines. * Contribute creative ideas for food presentation and displays, particularly for new and themed buffet setups. * Engage in daily operational discussions with chefs and cooks regarding kitchen activities. * Ensure timely follow-up on all matters related to their specific station. * Perform standard supervisory duties and any other tasks assigned by management. * Train junior culinary staff on foundational preparations, recipes, special menus, and food promotions. * Engage in necessary daily activity discussions with sous chefs and the head chef. * Attend all required professional development training sessions. * Ensure all staff maintain proper grooming and adhere to established hygiene standards. * Foster clear and effective communication between the Sous Chef and other team members.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar culinary role with a strong understanding of kitchen operations. * Thorough knowledge of standard recipes and food preparation techniques. * Strict adherence to hygiene and safety regulations. * A proactive approach to maintaining and improving food quality and operational standards. * Demonstrated ability to supervise and guide junior team members. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing inventory and minimizing waste. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team and management. * A commitment to maintaining a positive and safe working environment. * Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
