Description
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support banquet and event catering operations specializing in Chinese and Western cuisines. The role involves supervising kitchen teams, ensuring halal certification standards, developing menus, and coordinating large-scale events. Responsibilities and Duties
* Ensure all food preparation and service comply with halal certification standards * Assist in menu creation, preparation, and execution for events of varying scales * Supervise food preparation and ensure high standards of presentation and flavor * Collaborate with the Executive Chef on recipe development and food innovation * Oversee kitchen operations during banquets and events to ensure smooth delivery * Mentor and train junior chefs in halal standards, hygiene, and culinary techniques * Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and certification regulations * Manage inventory of halal-certified ingredients and coordinate with suppliers * Monitor food costs and support kitchen budget management * Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
Qualifications and Requirements
* Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts, F\&B Management, or related discipline * 4–6 years of experience in professional kitchens, including banquet or event catering * Strong understanding of halal food preparation standards * Proven leadership in managing kitchen teams and large-scale food production * Expertise in Chinese and Western cuisine with strong presentation skills * Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations * Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities
